Low risk of catheter occlusions(1)

Neutral displacement technology minimises blood reflux during syringe or set disconnection.

Versatile

Can be used on peripheral or central venous catheters.

Almost zero priming volume

K-Zero has a priming volume of 0.07 mL.

No specific clamping sequence required

Neutral displacement eliminates the need for any specific clamping sequence.

Effective microbial barrier

Designed to minimise entry points for bacteria between the connector's external surface and internal fluid path upon activation(3).

K-Zero septum closes automatically after disconnection.

Helps to minimise the risk of bloodstream infections.

Fluid displacement

K-Zero shows a low risk of occlusion due to minimal reflux(1).

Displacement graph.png

Minimal displacement volumes during connection (3.9 microLitres) and disconnection (-1.1 microLitres).

K-Zero is among the best performing products tested in terms of fluid displacement as shown in the table above.

K-Zero after

One drop of a fluorescent solution was applied to the surface.

After 30 seconds, the fluorescent solution was removed with a disinfectant cloth (B.Braun Softa Cloth CHX 2%) by scrubbing the surface for 15 seconds.

After drying, UV light was used to show the remaining fluorescent solution on the surface.

Safety built in

K-Zero is available as a standalone connector, 10cm extension set and built into all Agilia dedicated infusion sets with needlefree connectors.

Microbial ingress

K-Zero was tested(5) over seven days with over 50 activations each day and inoculation was with four microbes which are associated with blood stream infections by an independent laboratory.
